Happy New Years!

Resolutions are made to be broken, so instead of resolutions Im going to make goals.  Aren't I sly ;)  My first goal is to finish my CCAF degree.  I need 2 classes, math and speech...Ive needed these 2 classes pretty much the entire time Ive been in the AF.  So this is my year!  My next goal, of course, is to lose my Alaska weight...its been a problem for me for awhile and Im determined to get rid of it this year...actually by May, thats when I take my PT test.  Speaking of PT tests thats another goal...its more of a "until I get out of the AF" goal.  I want to never be scared of my test and to be ready at any time...so none of this working out like crazy for 2 months before it.  My last one is to do more things while wer're here in England...which will increase blog productivity by 50%!  Two birds...One stone :) 

I will check in periodically with my "goals" to see where Im at...Happy New Years!

December Daily

I am still working on this project.  Im determined to finish it next break now that I downloaded Photoshop.  Heres a couple of pages I did on Roberts computer...don't tell him ;)

Day 6

 

Today was all about getting our Christmas cards done.  The kids made their grandparents cards.  Every year I like to include a family letter and a picture of the kids (eventually it will be all of us)  Roberts mom started this tradition and I just love reading what happened through the years.

Day 7

I like to set up the tree the day of Thanksgiving but in normally doesn't go as planne.  Another one of our traditions are ornaments.  This started with my friend  Michelle and I getting an ornament for each other before we had families of our own.  I get one for each of us, I tend to get something that represents our year.  This year Katie got a ballerina since she started ballet.  Ben got a Polar Express bess, since his belief of Santa is slipping away.  Robert got a handyman reindeer and I got a baking reindeer.

Day 8

This day I just had each kid write what they wanted from Santa and put it in a badge holder.  Then put their picture in it.
 

Ill have some more up tomorrow, hopefully Ill start scanning the finished project.
 

Good Times

We had a fun two days this break....we went bowling and roller skating.

On Monday night we went bowling.  The moon must have been in line with Jupiter, I kicked Roberts butt the first game...and broke 100.  I normally suck at bowling.

I love how cute Katie looks...even with her skull and cross bone belt :)

Tuesday night we went roller skating...I thought for sure Katie would be scared to do it but she put the skates on and was all over it.

Merry Belated Christmas!

This year I had to work a mid on Christmas and the day after so I wasn't able to update my blog with all the goodies everyone got.

We have been having our dinners on Christmas Eve now I think for the last 2-3 years.  It makes Christmas that much more enjoyable, not having to worry about getting a meal together.  So this year was no different, we had our usual Prime Rib, creamy mashed potatoes, brasied carrots with fennel, brussel sprouts, pea salad,  and homemade bread.  The bread is so easy to make, versitile, and so good.  I will get the recipe up for it! 

Roberts dad started last year mailing the kids a Christmas video for the kids to watch on Christmas Eve.  It works out pretty good and gives them something to do while Im cooking..i.e a good babysitter :)

After dinner the kids open a present each...and every year its....pjs! 

This is a tradition Roberts family had when he was younger.  I think we have a good combination of my family traditions, Roberts family tradions and new tradions.  After a bath they have one more present for the both of them....a game for us to play.  This year we got Clue Carnival.  It was a fun game that even Katie could play. 

After the kids finally went to sleep we got everything ready for them.

The morning came way to quick for me...I slept until 9:30.  And like every year we had to wake the kids up.  I took a couple of pictures but I mostly wanted it video taped...and of course something happened and it only recorded the sound...no the lens cap wasn't on :) Robert used his cmaera and got the kids when they first saw their Santa gifts so thats good.  Everyone loved their gifts:

 

Ben got an electric guitar from Santa, an erector set, the new Super Mario Wii game, the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid, a rock tumbler from his Grammie and Grampy, a gum ball machine from Katie, and a Lego set from his Grandpa John.  We are still waiting for a couple more  gifts in the mail...

 

Katie got an iPod from Santa, a robe, a Nei Hoi Kai Lan Wii game ( a probably spelled that wrong) a pink sweatshirt and jewelry box from her Grammie and Grampy, a pink guitar from her grandpa John, a paper doll book from Ben, food for her kitchen, a wooden box for her treasures, kid headphones and a pretend school for when she plays school

Robert got Inline skates and a calculator from me.  The kids got him a Top Gear calendar, a can opener for work, a summer sausage, 3 UFC videos, magazine subscriptions and a clock and frame from his mom.  He also is waiting for some gifts in the mail.

I got Harry Potter on BluRay and 3 Bond movies on BluRay, perfume from Robert.  The Pioneer Womans cookbook, a camera strap, a flash diffuser, a chicken recipe and cake tester from my MIL and SFIL.  The kids got me a duck figurine Ive been eyeing at the post office.  Im am also waiting for presents to get here...next year i will have to order everything in September!

After all the presents wwere opened I started to make lunch for Roberts crew and for the Security Police that work by us at work.  I made Lasagna and Banana Pudding for them and threw in an small lasagna and pudding for my crew...  I also made monkey bread muffins for us...Ben didn't like them Katie ate a little of it...but me and Robert loved them!

December Daily- Day 5

Im just always going to be behind...

Day 5

Katie was invited to a birthday party.  It was a fancy dress disco...which means a dress up dance party :)  Those English and their fancy words.  I really didn't think it was going to be a big hit to have 5 years olds at a dance...but boy those kids had so much fun...Katie was a little hesitant at first to dance but after she ate she was ready to dance away.  And when they turned on the suds machine....whoo boy! those kids LOVED it!  This is her dancing with her froend Brittney...she leaves in March to go to Korea...Katies sure gonna miss her.  We also had fun playing Bens game he got from Santa, Pictureka.  It was a little to fast paced for us at first but once you get the han

I dont know what happened...I had 2 more days of December Daily pages that were suppose to load while I was at work...huh...oh well...

Day 4

Today we went to the squadrons Childrens Chirstmas party.  The kids had a really good time eating candy, playing on the bouncy castle, making gingerbread houses, and playing games.  They had a contest on who's gingerbread house was the best and Katie won!  It shouldn't be a surprise seeing her dad helped her out with his handy skills.

Im finding it very difficult in keeping up with the book, doing things to put in the book and then posting it on my blog...how do people do this?  :)  I am going to take pictures of my finished pages and post them in an album on here also...just another thing to add!

December Daily- Day 1

Im going to give it my all and for December I will journal our whats-happenings. Here we go...

Day 1:

December is never normal with both of us working shift work. But we can stick to traditions, and one tradition is Christmas Countdown calendars.  Ben and Katie both love getting  their piece of candy when they get home from school and seeing Christmas getting closer and closer.
